Blogging Mommy Rearranging List of Priorities

someecards.com - I'm definitely a busy Mom because my ten minute shower made me feel like I spent a day at the spa.So I realized that my priorities have gotten a little mixed up. My life has gotten so busy and suddenly I came to the conclusion that some important things we're getting neglected.
I care for my husband more than life itself and I'm madly in love with him and yesterday I came to the horrible realization that I have not kissed him in 3 or 4 days. And ladies I don't mean the peck on the lips you give before he heads off to work. I'm talking about the kiss that says I can't live without you.
My reaction to this realization was to fix it immediately. My conclusion was that I needed to rearrange my priorities because not only was I neglecting my husband but also my spiritual life.
First I made a list: What are my priorities as a stay at home mom, wife and daughter of the king of kings? I love organizing anything and everything. So any excuse to make a schedule, or a list is quite enjoyable to me.
LIST OF PRIORITIES:First on my list is my spiritual life and my relationship with God. If I am not where I should be with God there is no way I can be the wife and mother that I want to be . Also in this first priority I lump in the spiritual well being of my family also. Because what is more important then that?
Second is my husband. I believe too many times young mothers put the needs and wants of the children above her husband. Children need to see you love and dote on your husband. It is important to their security of their family life and home. Make sure your children know that your husband is the light of your life! Your children should know without a shadow of a doubt that Mommy and Daddy are on the same team and love each other and their children and the Lord with all their hearts.
Third is my children. Teaching them, loving them and caring for their needs, wants and desires. I love my only son and will love my future children deeply and with everything I have.
Maybe such a defined priority list is not for everyone but I know that I am very obsessive compulsive. You could describe me as someone with tunnel vision I lock onto one great idea or project and go after it with every fiber of my being. I will eat, sleep and breathe only one thing at a time. Thus leading to many important things getting neglected.
Fourth is me time. I include in this the times I'm burned out and exhausted mentally or physically and just need to breathe and relieve stress. For my tips on relieving stress follow this link. I don't include free time or fun time so much in this category.
Fifth is my health and weight loss goals. Of course this is just a general list. If something comes up in my health like my Crohn's or pregnancy it moves up the ladder of importance and my husband is so good about taking care of me and our son when I'm sick. I am so blessed. This list is just for day to day general things.
Sixth is cleaning the house. Even though this item is this low on my list I still find time to make sure the house stays in order. I love a clean house...maybe too much. Thus the necessity for the lower place on the list:)
Seventh is hobby time which includes blogging, gardening and doing yard work.

So, here I am attempting to try harder on a couple of things. Specifically reading my bible and praying in the mornings before I start my day. Trying harder to spend time with my husband not just watching T.V or sitting on the couch on the laptop but talking time. Also I need to work on putting my blogging hobby in its rightful place a little lower on the priority list then it has been. It has all been so new and I've been enjoying every second of it so much! But I need to try harder to not be so tunnel visioned in my extra curricular activities. Yes, I realize I am currently blogging about not spending so much time blogging. Go ahead laugh it really is kind of funny in a sad ironic way! Actually my goal is to post in my blog often but cut back on the frivolous time I like to spend rearranging layouts, changing Html and stalking Google Analytics :-) I hope this post made you smile and helped you in some way! A merry heart doeth good like a medicine but a broken spirit drieth up the bone. :-)
